Hi everyone !

It's been months since someone posted on this community...
Don't let it die girls, it's fun !

So, I was browsing my facebook thread yesterday, when suddenly...

Candy Shower

Seriously, am I the only one who thinks the colors clash horribly ?
The shape of the dress is cute, but dem satin ribbons make it look so cheap !

So, what do you think ?

I know lolita has a more "childish" look - but this literally looks like something a 5 year old would wear....

I came here to say the exact same thing. It looks like the ugly dress at the expensive toddler boutique.

Meta seems to be challenging AP on who's closer to age play territory. The print, satin ribbon and shape are all just far too much like what people would stick on a 2 year old. I think Meta should make these in child sizes and make a fortune off of all the lolitas who have kids now and want to cover them in brand. It would be perfect for the girls who don't have the heart/sewing skills to buy a rare print and chop it down to size for their wee ones.

Meta was inspired by AP's muumuu? ._.

Really it reminds me of a recent trip to the mall, the children's section was the only department with clothes in the loliable shape. Quality isn't the best of course, but it was unnerving.

Oh, Meta. If we all had money to throw at things of questionable taste....

The colours are what bother me, and the print.
I like the shape (and I love collars)
But if this were like a plain pale pink, with white ribbons/accents, I think it would actually look good.

Right now it reminds me of a clown's outfit.

I'm sure this could be cute at a photoshoot, but if someone were wearing this at a meetup it would make me feel uncomfortable. It's way too childish.

I actually really like the colors because I was a child of the 80s and this print totally has an 80s vibe, but that horrid satin ribbon and the muumuu shape are beyond gross. They could have done a nice fitted drop-waist OP with a three-tiered skirt edged in a cute white lace, little puffed sleeves (not that clunky clown-costume crap in this OP), maybe a white triangular placket like AP's Musee du Chocolat with some playful candy-shaped buttons... So much wasted potential here!

I have this problem with Meta a lot, actually, where I love the fabrics but their patterning is so awful that I find it unwearable. (In particular, I once bought/traded for every JSK and a skirt from the Cherry Gingham series hoping just one of them would be flattering and not-embarrassing for me to wear - nope!)
